Website/blog

Combined, your sketchbook and website/blog will provide places to practice, research, plan, analyze, comment, generate new ideas and display finished work. Follow all directions carefully but think for yourself while solving the problems that have been posed. Work in your sketchbook DAILY. Post your studio PROCESS to your blog WEEKLY. Update your online gallery REGULARLY; it will become an invaluable tool when curating a body of work an preparing a portfolio for college. etc.

How to photograph your work

Make sure to get into the habit of documenting your work - both in PROCESS and FINISHED - constantly.

Even PROCESS shots can be look good, there is no reason they shouldn't but the FINAL images meant for your gallery MUST be of the highest quality.

Remember to keep a folder on your computer with all the raw files. Once uploaded, they are no longer of the same quality (so if you need to submit an image for a contest or scholarship, for example, you have to use the ORIGINAL not one that has been posted).

The video below summarizes some of the things we discussed in class. Watch it for review.
