The Asian-American Society of Central Virginia (AASoCV) seeks to help integrate Asian Americans into American society and educate the public about Asian culture and heritage. May is the federal month for Asian heritage. In order to celebrate it, AASoCV holds an annual Asian American Celebration Festival at the Richmond Convention Center. As part of this year’s celebration, there is an art competition for high school students. Please use one of the following topics to help celebrate the unity of diversity: 1) Unity of the Diverse Society, 2) Asian Cultural Awareness, or 3) Asian American Society of Central Virginia Awareness and Its Impact.
Cash prizes to the top three and two honorable mention winner’s school art departments will be awarded; 1st place-$900, 2nd place-$500, 3rd place-$300 and $100 for 3 honorable mentions.
All submitted work will be displayed at the Convention Center during the Festival. Members of the Asian Society will pick-up and return work to schools.
