  1. Carefully read your Description paragraph and the suggestions that were given to you.
  2. Decide how you will resolve the issues that were addressed.
  3. FINALIZE the Description paragraph accordingly.
  4. After the Description paragraph, write a rough draft of BOTH the Analysis AND Interpretation paragraphs. 
  5. Remember to use your Chapter 2 notes and the Critique and E & P handouts as helpful resources.
  6. The Interpretation paragraph should include BOTH factual information AND your personal interpretation of the work.
  7. Look for information that helps you to understand Matisse's intent AND the context within which the painting was made. 
  8. There are books in the library and the art room and, of course, you can access the Internet. Write in your own words. 
  9. Cite sources, using MLA style
