HOMEWORK:

- DUE FRIDAY - TWO REFINED research project ideas as per the posted Semester 1 Project parameters. Your typed proposal should clarify the specific question and/or thesis statement that your research seeks to address. Included also must be the required visuals (one from the text book AND one from a museum or actual site that you can visit) and credit lines (captions for images/works of art). Images do not need to be in color.
- DUE OCT. 27 - Your choice of ONE "Think About It" question from Chapter 3
- VARIOUS DUE DATES: ART HISTORY ALERT!!! The topic for this round must specifically address one or more of the major themes that we have looked at. Your post must include an image of something we've covered in class and how it directly relates to the related theme that you've found elsewhere. This time, in order to avoid the last minute influx of posts (which, I think, prevents us from fully appreciating them), you will be "tagged" and assigned a deadline for the next week. Tagging will start on Oct. 13th.
HAPPENINGS:
- OCT. 27 = Art Club meeting (because it's the 4th Tues. of the month). Special event: NAHS induction ceremony!!!
- NOV. 4 = Washington D.C. field trip permission forms will be available (Deadline Nov. 20th but space is limited, so... first come/first served!)
- NOV. 6 = MW/VAB First Friday Art Walk - meet in room 153 @ 5:30 for refreshments, then load the shuttle bus for a ride to and from art galleries on Broad and Main streets.
- NOV. 10 = Lunchtime Lecture (this is an Art Club meeting but an extra credit opportunity for art history students). Required for extra credit: 1) Attendance at the lecture; 2) A typed report (1 page is enough), which incorporates both factual information and summative/reflective thoughts; 3) Submission of this report no later than the Friday after the lecture.
