  • Introduce Artist Spotlight #7 (check & discuss AS #6 from last week)
  • First-round, D.C. field trip preparations
  • How are the self-portraits going @ 2 weeks in??? Check PROCESS posts (are you practicing your photo/editing skills while you are at it?)
  • Continue AbEx - Intro. and exercises with a focus on COLOR THEORY

WEDNESDAY: see HW
  • Daily drawing
  • Last-minute D.C. field trip preparations/PLANNING page
  • Continue AbEx - Intro. and exercises, continue color theory/simultaneous contrast

​FRIDAY: D.C. Field Trip

PROJECT DEADLINES: ​
  • DUE Dec. 10th = HOME: Self-Portrait using your Old Master's mark.
    • Remember to post weekly PROCESS on your blog; the final PROCESS post (DUE Dec. 14th) should include a side-by-side of your old master drawing + your old master copy + your self-portrait.

HOMEWORK DEADLINES:​ ​​
  • ONGOING = Ab Ex PLANNING page (make sure to watch "The Case for Abstraction")
  • DUE MONDAY = AS #6
  • DUE WEDNESDAY = D.C. Field Trip PLANNING page​
  • DUE Dec. 12 = SB & WS CHECK; to include: 
    • For SB:
      • OBSERVATION (Daily drawings, includes: bigger, searching lines, figure)
      • CURIOSITY (One of two, remember to ASK A QUESTION)
      • PLANNING (Projects pages (Self-portrait, Ab Ex) + D.C. Field Trip)
      • ART HISTORY (AS #5, #6, #7...)
      • PLAY (Keep pushing your ideas....how can Howardena Pindell's process inspire YOUR play & experimentation?)
    • For WS:
      • PROCESS (Self-portrait, 3 weeks/ish)(you can have until Friday, Dec. 14 for the final post/side-by-side comparisons)
      • EXPERIENCE (VMFA and D.C. field trips)
      • AWARENESS (stay tuned....)
  • DUE Dec. 19 (last day before break) = All work is photographed, posted, and taken home and/or stored properly (not in class drawer). 
  • DUE Jan. 18 = SB Q2/make sure to include (and follow) teacher/peer-review feedback as per the SB CHECK from Dec. 12
