  • Daily drawing - apply lessons learned with TVA, even when not drawing a figure...!!!
  • Discuss AS #6 - use this information to help with final decisions for your still life drawings
  • Continue/review Still Life notes in preparation for the quiz on Nov. 5 (open notes, including syllabus)
  • Mini-process critique... What are we looking for?  How can you bring your work to a conclusion (when is art "finished")? How can you push yourself to the edge of your abilities (risk taking = growth)? What does your artistic voice sound like?
  • Studio time: FOCUS on FINISHING at least ONE drawing that exhibits your ability to render the objects realistically (mimesis, naturalism, verisimilitude, the illusion of 3D form via value v. outlines) AND at least ONE drawing that exhibits your ability to stretch beyond realism to a more abstract/stylistic mode of expression, as inspired by the modernists who broke free of tradition (look carefully @ AS #3, #4, #5). BOTH drawings must be finished, matted, signed, labeled, and ready for critique by the start of class NEXT WEDNESDAY (the self-assessment may be turned in by the end of the day).

WEDNESDAY: see HW
  • Modified schedule, 12:35 - 1:50
