What deadlines do I need to plan for?
How should I dress for class today?
When is the next NAHS/Art Club meeting?
When is the next Lunchtime Lecture?
Are there any special events coming up?
Is there a change in the schedule?

4) re: Friday's agenda... be prepared for anything!

MONDAY:  SNOW DAY.... which means that the below tasks will happen at some other time.... but you'll just have to stay tuned to know when... assume nothing, be prepared for everything!
  • Review the term "greenware" - and ALL clay terms (see handout)
  • Finish trimming stoneware chawan - leave to dry/to be bisque-fired in time to glaze on Friday (this is a change).
  • Continue hand built chawan; make MULTIPLES, using MULTIPLE techniques (incise, excise, impress, appliqué, etc.). This is your opportunity to EXPLORE the possibilities through trial and error while using the Japanese aesthetic and function of the tea ceremony as inspiration.

  • Check wheel-thrown chawan, refine as needed, load kiln - start "candling"
