Interim is Friday
Winter break is almost here...!!!
MONDAY/TUESDAY:
WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY:
FRIDAY:
HOMEWORK is designed to: 1) allow for exploration, practice, preparation, and application of class content, 2) encourage independent work, time management, and efficiency of work flow (don't procrastinate!), 3) fit within the weekly homework time allotted for this class. Keep these things in mind as you work. Use of a timer is one way to stay on task and to monitor your work time. Please note that your individual needs and work process may result in spending more or less than the suggested average time. Please ask for help/use extended lunch as needed; communicate extension requests 3-days before a deadline.
HAPPENINGS:
- Warm up: Review your Project Planning document; read each criterion and check off each question as you answer as many as you can at this point (rows 1, 2, 4, and 6 at a minimum); make note of the remaining criteria as you prepare to complete this project by the end of class on Jan 2/3 to be critiqued and turned in on Jan 4/5
- Demo. - watercolor
- Continue Subject, Composition, Content project
- Add line quality to all drawings - cut each drawing out, careful not to cut away any line quality
- Select and prepare background elements
- Work through varied compositions (take photos along the way if you can) - no gluing yet!
WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY:
- Warm up: On the back of your Project Planning document, work on an artist statement that will help to explain your work. Think about this: If your work was hanging in a museum, what would the wall text say? Use informtion related to your Subject, Composition, and Content to get started.
- Demo. - compositional strategies
- Continue Subject, Composition, Content project
- Work on background elements/work through varied compositions
- Finalize Project Plan document & revise artist statement as needed
- Glue MIGHT happen for some today - otherwise, it MUST happen immediately after break
