What are we doing this week?
Am I prepared for class?
Did I do my homework?
Do we have a quiz this week?
What deadlines do I need to plan for?
How should I dress for class today?
When is the next NAHS/Art Club meeting?
When is the next Lunchtime Lecture?
Are there any special events coming up?
Is there a change in the schedule?
What opportunities can I take advantage of?
In what other ways can I prepare to do my best?

(10) Week of November 6th (start Q2)

11/6/2017

No school for students/Tuesday

As you start Q2, consider the knowledge and skills that you came with and where you are now. In the spirit of the cumulative nature of learning, do the following to support the next steps in your artistic progression and success:

1. Take responsibility for class preparation and participation by reviewing the agenda at the start of each week.
2. Take responsibility for your personal improvements by following all directions (in class, homework, sketchbook, spoken, written, or otherwise) - and THINKING PAST THEM for unique solutions that APPLY what you have been learning.
3. Take responsibility for managing your time in the way that makes sense for you but that results in slow and steady completion of work with point #2 in mind.
4. Take responsibility for asking questions and seeking help if you need it. Extended lunch time = open art studio....take advantage of this resource!

  • DUE MONDAY = Payment and permission form for the D.C. field trip; seats are limited and reserved on a first come/first served basis with collected payment and permission
  • DUE WED./THURS. = Using the feedback you were given on your rough draft, plus your own improved knowledge and abilities, write a Description paragraph that is better than your first. Think carefully about what you write and how you write it: Does it include the credit line information? Is it as descriptive as it could be? Will it result in a more accurate drawing by the one who reads and interprets it? Typed, double spaced, name/date/class code. Use the handout you were given to assist in this process.
